An insurance agency's holiday card should thank clients for trusting you with their coverage, wish them a safe and happy season, and remind them you're there when they need you, in two or three sentences. Leave out renewals, rates, quotes and referral requests so the card reads as a thank-you, not a mailer.
Most clients hear from their agency at renewal or after a claim. A card with nothing to sell is one of the few times they hear from you just to say thanks. Below are messages you can use as written, grouped by who's getting the card.

For clients who had a claim this year

Lighter lines
Insurance humor works best with clients who know you well. Use one line, not a whole card of puns.
- Wishing you a holiday season with plenty of cheer and zero claims.
- Here's to a new year with no surprises, except the good kind.
- The only thing we hope you file this season is a wish list. Happy holidays.
Christmas or holiday wording?
If your book of business spans different faiths, "happy holidays" or "season's greetings" is the safe choice. If your agency and community send Christmas cards, "Merry Christmas" is fine. Our guide on what to write in a business holiday card has more options for both.
What to leave out
- Renewal dates, rate changes and quote offers.
- Cross-sell lines, like asking about umbrella or life coverage.
- Requests for reviews or referrals.
- Anything that reads like a policy notice.
Consider a Thanksgiving card
Some agencies send Thanksgiving cards for insurance clients instead, so the card arrives before the December rush. A Thanksgiving message can lean on gratitude: This Thanksgiving, we're thankful for clients like you. Wishing you a happy, safe holiday with the people you love.
A line about your charity
Each year, we donate at least 10% of net proceeds from greeting card sales to charity. When you customize your card, you pick any IRS-recognized 501(c)(3). Agencies often pick a local charity and name it in the card: This year, our holiday cards support [Charity Name].
Save time on the mailing
If you're sending to 100 or more clients, we can print, address and mail your holiday cards for you. Every envelope is addressed with a real ballpoint pen and mailed by the date you choose. It costs $2.25 to $4.75 per recipient before postage, with larger mailings at the low end. Postage is USPS First-Class at cost.
When to send
Aim for your cards to arrive in the first two weeks of December. Our guide on when to send business holiday cards has the mail-by dates.
