For most business client lists, send a holiday card that says "Happy holidays" or "Season's greetings," because it fits everyone on a mixed list. Send Christmas cards when you know your clients celebrate Christmas or your firm has always sent them. Send Thanksgiving cards when you want yours to arrive before the December rush: they mail in mid-November and skip the question of which holiday to name.

Holiday cards
"Happy holidays" and "season's greetings" cover Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and New Year's in one card, which is why they're the default for most business lists. "Season's greetings" reads a little more formal; "happy holidays" a little warmer. We have more than 220 Happy Holidays cards and more than 270 Season's Greetings cards, and our page on non-religious business holiday cards covers how to choose.
Christmas cards
Christmas cards fit when your firm and your clients share the tradition, or your community expects them. A middle ground is a winter or wreath design on the front with "happy holidays" inside. If you choose a religious design, send it to people you know share your faith. Browse business Christmas cards.
Thanksgiving cards
A Thanksgiving card arrives before the December pile-up, and its message is gratitude, which is what a client card is for, and as a secular U.S. holiday it fits a mixed list. Mail between November 9 and November 17 so cards arrive before Thanksgiving on November 26. Our page on Thanksgiving cards for business clients has the dates and designs.
New Year cards
A New Year card lands after the December rush, which helps it stand out, and it carries no religious meaning. Mail between December 21 and December 31. Browse New Year cards.
Hanukkah cards
If you know a client celebrates Hanukkah, a Hanukkah card is a thoughtful choice. This year Hanukkah runs December 4 to 12, so mail by November 25. Browse Hanukkah cards.
One card per person
Pick one card for each recipient this season. If your list mixes long-time clients who share your traditions with a broader group, you can split it: Christmas cards to the first group, holiday cards to everyone else.
What to write and when to order
Our guide on what to write in a business holiday card has messages for each kind of card, and our guide on when to send business holiday cards has the order and mail-by dates.
